Life Is Short // Wear the Shoes

Jacket // Tank // Jeans // Loafers // Earrings // Glasses

I have always been hard on my self for not being quite so pretty, thin or altogether delicate. Have you ever felt this way? I see other long, dainty elegant women and compare myself to them and I just quite never measure up. These shoes are something that normally I would want to wear but would never, ever wear because I would fear someone would look at them and think I wasn’t girly, feminine or graceful. But I actually I think they’re incredibly cute, super comfortable and so easy to slip on! After having cancer, then having a relapse scare I have a new lease on life that I think maybe you should have too. Now, I’m going to wear what I want and be true myself no matter what I’ve cooked up about others opinions.

I have this thought that I must be (or come across as) fragile, frail, elegant, dainty, refined and sophisticated but honestly in real life I am more rough around the edges, curly/kinky, unpolished, klutzy, clumsy, awkward, stocky, muscular, short and stout. Whoa, that was a lot of adjectives.

I want to encourage you today that if there is something that you have avoided wearing, or avoided doing, or avoided saying because of what others will think of you, forget about it and wear the shoes. Life is too short to spend it thinking about the potential thoughts of others.

It’s so funny because I’m wearing the shoes right now and I am literally like smiling on the inside thinking you might be thinking that I am weird but I am honestly wearing them because I like them, and that makes me happy. Try it out, and let me know how it went. What are you holding back? And what are you waiting for?
